Cellulose ethers are derivatives of cellulose and act as a gelling and thickening agent. They are also a carrier and a coating agent for many different applications. They can provide a viscos liquid consistency and have a stabilising and emulsifying effect. Cellulose ethers are water soluble and therefore have various uses in many industries from food, pharma to detergents.

We offer derivatives that are produced by substitution (etherification) following alkalinisation of the starting cellulose. These include water-soluble carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), hydroxyethyl cellulose (HEC) and methyl hydroxy ethyl cellulose (MHEC, MC).
